An artist, from a family of artists and wife to an artist, Andrea expresses her creativity through jewellery-making: tiny metal and stone wearable sculptures. Manufacturing jewellery since 2003, Andrea first worked for a renowned South African retail jeweller before starting her own business in 2008 as Andrea Stander Jewellery. The business was rebranded after the birth of her son, Jasper, and daughter, Indigo Lily. Andrea homeschools her children. When not in the workshop, they spend their days having picnics in the forest, exploring by the riverside, hiking up the mountains. They make artworks together, cook together, clean the house together. Martin, Andrea’s husband, is a camera technician, sculptor and designer. They partner together in life, business and raising artists for the next generation.

DESIGN
Andrea has a contemporary outlook on design and loves adding a unique element to her work, whether it be an engagement ring, wedding band, heirloom piece or gift for any occasion. She finds inspiration in organic shapes and great joy in creating a beautiful piece of jewellery, reflecting the wearer while keeping practical considerations such as comfort and wearability in mind.
CREATE
Andrea’s passion is for the manufacturing process. The technical challenges of engagement rings, the symmetry; the fire and hammering, the roughness of the process; the organic flowing lines of creative pieces; the polished and beautiful ring at the end of a workday. Each jewellery piece is uniquely handcrafted with the highest quality platinum, gold or silver, and individually sourced diamonds and gemstones.
RECYCLE
Indigo Lily Bespoke Jewellery repairs broken jewellery, resizes rings for that perfect fit and remodels old jewellery into a new piece/s that you just love. Your own diamonds, gems and precious metals can be reused in the remodelling of your jewellery where possible.
Precious metals are sourced straight from the refinery, Cape Precious Metals. They produce all of their purest quality precious metals by recycling and refining.
Diamonds are supplied by a Cape Town based wholesale diamond dealer. The diamonds are ethically sourced and most of them come directly from South African diamond mines.
